About
Tarhan Arıkan was born in 1969 and received a Master of Architecture degree from Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago, USA) in 1997. He -in line with his education at IIT- seeks the simplest yet culturally sensitive solution for the specific problem. His design effort -instead of repeating a prescribed approach- concentrates on bringing out the best possible outcome from the existing conditions. As a keen advocate of the social responsibility of architects, he devotes a significant amount of his time to teaching and lecturing. He has been a part-time design studio lecturer at Gebze Technical University since 2010 and frequent speaker at various institutions.
